We have learnt today that 1 Westmoreland Road has been selected as a temporary site to house the new Bullers Wood School for Boys.
We have always maintained that this is a good site for a secondary school particularly when the Borough is in such desperate need of secondary school places.
Having spent several years developing proposals to build a free school – ShaW Futures Academy - on this site, we are disappointed that the temporary opening of BWSFB will set our own project back.
However, we accept that places are required for this September, which BWSB will be able to offer. We are working with the Department for Education to explore a variety of options to minimise any additional delays to SHaW Futures, given Bromley is still very short of secondary school places.
