Success in the National Teaching Awards

 

Five exceptional members of staff from across London South East Academies Trust have had their achievements recognised in the National Teaching Awards 2026, reflecting the outstanding talent and commitment found throughout our schools.
These awards are among the most prestigious accolades in education, with each category attracting hundreds of nominations from schools and colleges across the country.

This year, the Trust submitted five nominations representing a range of roles and specialisms across its schools. Every nomination received national recognition, securing four Certificates of Achievement and one Bronze Award.

The five staff members were presented with their awards on today - which is national Thank a Teacher Day. This is an annual celebration, dedicated to recognising the hard work and impact of teachers and support staff who inspire and help shape the lives of children and young people.

The award recipients are:
Woodside Academy
Frank Barnes, Deputy Facilities Manager, received a Bronze Award in the Unsung Hero category. Frank was recognised for his commitment to supporting pupils, staff and families, and for the vital role he plays in ensuring the school remains a safe, welcoming and positive environment.

Bramley Grange Academy
Cath Nicholls, SENCO, received a Certificate of Achievement in the SEND and Inclusion category in recognition of her outstanding work supporting children with additional needs and championing inclusive practice throughout the school.

Bramley Oak Academy
Georgie Bicknell, Teacher, received a Certificate of Achievement in the SEND and Inclusion category for her dedication to ensuring every pupil in her care can thrive and achieve their potential.

Bromley Trust Academy (Midfield)
Jenny Robertson, Teacher, received a Certificate of Achievement in the SEND and Inclusion category, recognising her commitment to delivering exceptional support and opportunities for pupils at BTA – helping them to re-engage with learning and thrive in education.

Bedonwell Junior School
Rosemarie D'Costa, Teaching Assistant, received a Certificate of Achievement in the Teaching Assistant of the Year category, celebrating the positive impact she has made on pupils' learning and development for over 20 years!
