A dedicated and talented teacher at Woodside Academy has had her hard work recognised – receiving a highly commended certificate in the Pearson National Teaching Awards 2023.

Corrinia Vincent received the accolade in the Excellence in Special Education Category, beating off competition from thousands of entrants across the country. The national awards are a huge event in the teaching calendar, celebrating the amazing work carried out by the profession.

Leading the way in EYFS, Corrinia has been recognised for the excellent support she provides her team of teachers and TAs by offering advice, support and strategies.
She has carried out a huge amount of research into special needs autism, putting this knowledge into practice every day. Corrinia helps to improve the understanding of each child’s needs, promoting their autonomy and independence.

Alongside her commendation, Corrinia also received a handwritten letter from Sir Michael Morpurgo, President of the awards, in which he recognised her "devotion to her pupils, to colleagues, to the school".

Congratulations, Corrinia, on this brilliant accomplishment and thank you for all you do. We are really proud of you!
